Mountain Valley Community Camp (MVCC) is a volunteer led, one-week resident (overnight) camp situated around tree-lined Lake Bennettsen at Girl Scouts of Western Washington Camp Lyle McLeod.
Camp is open to all campers entering 2nd through 12th grades. Second through eighth graders are assigned to units with campers near their own age and ninth through twelfth graders can choose between the high school camper or leadership units. Adult volunteers include a medically trained health supervisor; certified life guards; small craft safety and archery instructors; counselors provided with unit specific training and quantity-trained cooks who prepare and serve our meals in the lodge. All volunteers are trained in Girl Scout policies and procedures, and many are First Aid/CPR qualified. With 150 campers and 55-60 adults (for a ratio of 3-1) the campers are safe and well cared for. Program includes swimming, boating, archery, crafts, music, all-camp activities, star and meteor gazing, roasting s'mores and much more. A week at camp allows campers a chance to know themselves a little better, make new and lasting friendships, and create memories to last a lifetime! |
